Appalachian Plateau
Appalachian Plateau is in the far north west corner of Georgia and is the smallest region in Georgia. It has narrow valleys and wooded ridges. The soil is clay based and the region is mainly covered by oak forests. It also marks the beginning of the Appalachian trail. The most prominent features are the Sand Mountain and Lookout.
