Moving Westward
The students of Georgia all struggle with westward expansion and major events that happen near that time. We are very excited to introduce our way to improve knowledge of Western Expansion. We have decided to do a board game based on Westward Expansion. With the board game, we will have an opportunity to reach the student that refuse to learn. Using the game, which we will call Westward Motion, we can let the students learn, while having fun at the same time.
The game will have 2 decks of cards, and the objective is to get as much land as possible. You can lie, cheat, and steal, while learning about Georgia. To win, you must use your knowledge of Georgia, and use it to your fullest ability. One deck will be full of question cards that u can answer to get land. The other deck is full of cards that let you steal people’s land. How you get these cards is by landing on the squares marked draw a card. As you can see, this will be a major breakthrough.

Driving Research Questions:
1. What problem or issues have you discovered that needs to be solved?
Students are having a difficult time learning about Westward Expansion.
2. What proposals do you have in order to help solve the identified issues?
My partners and I will make a board game.

Intended Outcome:
I hope that all the students will master the content. They'll eventually understand what the Indians went through, but also know how America thrived. I also want them to know development in Georgia during this time. By the end, students should be able to analyze the establishment of of Georgia and can evaluate the impact of land policies. We want to make it interactive and fun instead of boring textbooks and writing. This boarding game will probably help students do well on big exams like the Georgia Milestone.

Results:
We accomplished many things while doing this project. It was not a perfect outcome as we hoped to be. The board was kind of dirty from the marker stains, and the board wasn't as big as we thought. But besides that all the information is complete and is ready to go.

Reflection:
Besides helping other learn from the board game, I learned some facts that I didn't know. For example, I learned more about Westward Expansion in GA. Some of the difficult parts of the project was making double sided cards, and the pens kept smearing, making the board all dirty. Next time, we should get a poster board that made of cardboard, so it won't smear. The project help me to work with other people and how to get students understand Westward Expansion. This project was a bit different than my older ones, because we didn't have to write a whole lot.
