Ridge and Valley
Ridge and Valley of Georgia is west of the Blue Ridge, east of the Appalachian Plateau, and north of Piedmont. The soil is mainly made up of limestone or sedimentary rocks. Erosion had made many of the ridges and valleys that still exist today. The distribution of the ridges and valleys was important to the Western Expansion during 1800's and influenced patterns of settlement and land use.
