Popcorn Lab
Popcorn Lab:
Question: Will the mass of the popcorn be same as the kernel?
Hypothesis: If the popcorn pops, then the popcorn will be the same mass as the kernel because the conversation of mass states that mass can't be created or destroyed.
Materials:
Procedures:
Data:
Before:
Number of Kernels : 452
Kernel's Mass: 75.5 grams
After:
Number of Kernels: 452
Kernel's Mass: 66.8 grams
Results:

Conclusion: If the kernels pop, it will remain the same mass as the popped kernel because the conservation of mass states that matter can't be created or destroyed. This incorrect statement, for the mass didn't stay the same. Some of the matter went to the air, causing the popped kernels to lose some mass. Some observations were made like the color and odor of the product. In future experiments , we can use a different popcorn machine to see if less gas is produced. We had couple of errors like dropping some. The lab was fun because we got to eat popcorn.

Materials:
- Kernels
- Popcorn Machine
- Triple Beam Balance
Procedures:
- First count and find the mass of the kernels
- Pop the kernals with the machine
- When all the kernels have popped, measure the mass of the popcorn and re
