Piedmont
Piedmont is between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Upper Coastal Plains and it is the most populated region in Georgia. Also, one of the country's first gold rushes started here. Southern Piedmont is made of oak and hickory trees and Piedmont's soil is called Saprolite, which is red clay of Georgia. Indian inhabited the area about 10,000 years ago. When Europeans came to the region in 1700's, they dominated the region with cotton plantations and dairy farms.
