The Cotton Gin is a machine that quickly separates cotton from seeds. It was invented in Georgia by Eli Whitney, who was an American inventor. Before the cotton gin, many slaves had to manually pick the seeds by hand to obtain cotton. The Southern states was revolutionized by the invention, which increased the amount of slaves working on fields.
